smell ya later 2k10

Am I the only one who felt that 2k10 left more to be desired, I think for me I nothing REALLY happened...or maybe it did, I mean I.....

was in two major motion pictures by Ron Howard & Steven Sodeberg. I mean they are small but I always dreamed to be in movies and it seems like my start is just beginning...

had a lead role in a chicago play...

went to see some bands I love live...

went to mexico...

got my own place...

Okay, okay, so maybe 2k10 was better than I thought, I guess when you take time to look back and count your blessings, you seem less cynical, less ungrateful. and theres nothing that annoys me more than bratty people. Sure we all have our bad days, & even if your problems may seem small compared to others, they are still important. but i know that some of us have had some wonderful experiences this year, even if it was just falling in love with the 11th doctor....(haha)

SPEAKING OF WHICH (no not the doctor, tho who watched that tear jerkin episode for christmas?? and yes Jenny, is did look like JJ directed it LAWLS) I did get some nice stuff from my family & friends this year I didnt really ask for much but, I am always happy that people go out of there way for me...

I got that velvet dress Ive been crying for LOL (its pictured backwards I just realized!!!) A free ppl-esque floral dress and sweater, sequin skirt, two new shorts, and velvet leggings. PLUS I GOT some make up, bath body works haul, those russian nesting doll measuring cups (woot!),lots of candy because my mom wants to make me FAT, a reflector because my mom worrys, water botter & thermol, & THAT HELLO GEEKS PLANNER!!!

I didnt even say i wanted this stuff and some how my family found out (hope they dont read my blog, lol, jk i mean what will the find out really?)

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING EVERYONE, I've been really excited for this upcoming concert tho yeasayer for new years eve!!! ACK! Ive planned out my outfit mostly, cant wait!!!

all i want for christmas...

is to never hear that song again. HAHA, back when I was like 19-20? I used to work for Clinique and during christmas the only song they would play was Mariah Carey's "all I want for christmas" and I officially despise that version of that song. Nothing against Ms. Carey or christmas songs...just when you hear a song 100xs a day since halloween.....

anyway, my home is prepped for the holidays! this is my first christmas at my own place. I am rather excited :D thanks for all those who sent cards and gifts ^^ I'm pretty excited about this weekend. Today its another hipster holiday bash with yanky swap (haha!) tomorrow, family time, and saturday we are trekking off to my bros house to visit my nephew vader (whose a boston terrier lol)

of course every girl has their wish list ^_^

(but whatever i get this year, I know I'm blessed :D)

zoo lights

Dave + I went to Zoo lights at Lincoln Park Zoo, in my hood over the weekend. I was going to have that party & if you follow my tweets you'd know I was freakin out over it. But instead, we decided to cancel all our plans and just be big kids for the holiday. I think this was truly the best idea. We snapped tons of pics, photoboothed (yay), walk around, then after we got too cold went to my favorite vegetarian restaurant in the city.

What I love about zoo lights is its free, so you don't feel obligated to stay! Just look around then run away! My french club used to volunteer there when I was in High School, so it did bring up old memories...(of knowing french, lol, grandmere, desoleeeee)

At the cafe I got some veggie chili (yum) and then some tofu tostadas.... sooo good. They do tofu right here, its not like "thanks for the erasers :/" (I think I'll do a hip city review of chicago soon like Veronica, tell u more of cool places in the city like this.)

It was overall a lovely night and I'm glad that I just decided to just have a quiet intimate night than just running around overwhelmed at a party and people messing up my house, ha!

Anyway, Ive been snapping away so much recently, I'm going to keep with the photo diary style for a while and see how it reflects on my blog? Do you like this style? Or prefer more yappity yap?

So every christmas I decide that I really don't want anything. I usually martyr up, say "I don't need anything" and get some silly knickknacks from the family, which I adore...don't get me wrong

well this year...ITS ALL CHANGED (not really) Ive really been getting into the christmas spirit, maybe its all the meds, maybe its jaynes card, maybe its the glistening lights. Regardless I've been feeling christmas this year indeedy. It took some time for me to convert of course, I needed it to be at least a month away, I am NOT a halloween christmas person, let me enjoy the spooky before we bring on the snowy.

This will be a quickie post because I miss you all!! I've been so busy with the holidays, but my sweat bath is calling me and so is some episodes of Boys over Flowers (gotta watch my K-drama, helloooo!) So Alas I'll just show you a few things I received on Christmas (no bragging intended, I'm grateful for everytime big or small, and understand some people did not receive anything at all, believe me I used to have Christmases like those, my family has become very fortunate and are actually feeding the homeless tomorrow!)

I got these Engineer Style boots, which are all the rage!


And some doc marten style boots which I like better than Doc Marten because it doesn't have that gross bubble toe DX bleh!



Both are by Steve Madden! The second pair was free and the first was 75% off WEEE! Both styles can be seen on page 32 of the January Issue of Zipper! How lucky is that!?


Anyway, my bath is getting cold! I hope you all got what you wished for, I know I did, which was to play the Wii all nite with relatives! And watch my bro play Castlevania! LOLZ

Hey guys, ITS ALMOST CHIRSTMAS! And for some of you it already is Christmas! But regardless merry Christmas everyone!

Today I finished all my holiday crafting with love, I also made Panda a batman book cover with a moleskin sketch book inside, but I forgot to photograph it x_x sowwies!

For all my loves I made them cards outta old skool construction paper!



For my good friend I made him a plush tape with a jump drive in it with some of our favorite bands!


For my other great friend I made him a plush version of his awesome mustache (lol)



But he also comissioned me to make him a plush turtle for his niece, isn't she adorable!! I wanted to keep her so bad!! I mimicked her shell from a roller derby girl.WHIP IT!



I also made myself some K-Drama inspired earring today whilst chatting with my mommy. I really love how they turned out, they are so adorable!Great for my new wardrobe!


A few hours ago my brother, Panda and I were making cookies, we will put icing on them tomorrow but here's a sample of Panda's Solid Snake (big boss) Sugar Cookie, intense right? Got to love it!


Anyway today will be a short post, I need to get in the bed before Santa passes over my house! I hope you all get what your little hearts desire, be grateful for what you already have and I also hope you all spread the love and warmth of Christmas throughout the next couple of days, even months! I was really inspired by Jenny's post today, and you know what-- I totally agree. I'm the kind of girl who LOVES fashion, back in the day I used to go shopping every weekend (obviously this is before college stole my money ;_;) But now I am up to my ears in crap clothes! I Have tons of stuff but I always feel like I have nothing to wear.

So I'm starting my resolutions earlier, and one is: No more junk clothes for the sake that they are on sale or whatever! I want quality stuff that reflects *ME* and my style, rather than "kinda does" or gets lost in translation. No more trend pieces that I cannot wear with anything that I got on sale and will ultimately fall apart! It doesn't necessarily have to be from Asia, but it has to have a point towards being bought. I have so many items that were bought because they were cute that don't even work well with my body type (especially anything with lots of ruffles) I'm really glad I bought all these basic Tees the other day when I went out shopping with my mom; you can never go wrong with basic items versus a bunch of comic tees from Delias that you bought in high school.

Therefore, remember how I told you I was really getting in Korean Fashion, I made of list of things I need in order to improve my look ('cause I wanna be bangin'!) Don't get me wrong though, I love love love to give stuff away, I have always been fortunate to have a mom who spoils me and a sister in law who does as well. Sometimes I give stuff away to my mom's friends who have young daughters or Panda's little sis whose into "alternative" wear. I also don't mind chuck it all to the salvation army or I sell it to clothing exchanges. I am so grateful to have so much stuff and some things I will always keep like my tailored Paul Frank Blazer or my beat up chucks from High School. And thank you all who got me things! But now it's time for a change and have fewer high quality item, then lots of trendy clothes from high school x_x

....ON to the list! My Boom/wish list would include:

1. A funky sweatshirt or two ( or three or four) Here's two great one's from SHY SHY and QT GIRL from yesstyle (plus an animal style romper too!) I've noticed that oversized or just fun sweatshirts in general are all the rage in Korean style...


2. A Commes Des Garcon's Play Shirt...I love Junya Watanabe and since I cannot afford Commes des Garcon regular line, Play will have to do and it's so playful!! haha



3. K-Drama influenced Jewerly (the first one is from Boys over Flowers) as well as some Vivienne Westwood (of course! I already have the skull one, but I really want the jupiter style kind!)

4. Imju Fiberwig for those oh-so natural lashes...(tee hee) The Natural look is more popular in Korea than a big Gyaru style make, I feel awkward about falsies, I wonder if this can solve the problem for me :D


5&6 lots and lots of shorts, they seem to be all the rage...I really like the one's with the fur, I think I'll make them ^_^ Plus with all these shorts a girl is going to need fun tights!

7. Skinny Salopette, unlike the baggy style of Jumper seen in the shibuhara style, the skinny salopette is more of the Korean style

8. REALLY distressed Jeans, I gotta love them. Isn't the leopard a nice detail... I really like these acid wash one's as well. They are totally a throwback to like kindergarten for me! Lols.

9. I really like these boots, I saw Gurico wearing them in the Dec issue of Zipper. I love these I hope I can find them for big ol feet like mine!! Ah Gullie is so cute!


And finally,

10. Brown Pents (lol thats how the were spelled on the Korean website..haha) Brown dickie pants would be nice, they match with everything so well. It's unexpected too unlike jeans...even though I am trying to get out the habit of wearing pants.



I hope to be able to either make these looks on my own or buy them somewhere, I know yesstyle is a greatplace to start!! I'm excited about getting my look right and giving more stuff away! Anyway, on that note I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas early eve since I've been up forever and it's already christmas eve!!! Plus thanks for all for comments on the last post I hung out with the guys again today it was still a lot of fun and sweet as always. Except for all the farts -_-''' siiigh oh well.
