In this post I want to talk about an epidemic that is sweeping the nation...

and what I am talking about is...

GIRL CRUSHES

C'mon we all have them, whether we are a boy or a girl...And I just love them!

I mean girl crushes don't necessarily have to be sexual, because mine are not, I think its just a fun way to put who you admire....

When it comes to japanese fashion, for me I feel like it begins with a girl crush. You see a model, singer, actress, that makes you go "wowza wowza whoa whoa whoa" (sorry I went all tex avery on ya) And in a way you want to BE THIS GIRL...

I mean you don't hate your own life, but you think this girl is so cool, it inspires you to do what you want, girl crushes are nice because they motivate you to just do what you want! We can be cool too!

My girl crushes all started with a little lady named Anna Tsuchiya...

I saw her in Kamikaze Girls and I was like "Super Cool!" Then she did Nana, and I was like "Super Cooler!!!"

But even though I totally see Anna as a friend in my head, her style has gone from young and fresh cher model to a little too Hot Topic Punk for me, even though she is always a doll, and I love her "I don't give a flying fart" attitude, style wise, there is no longer any inspiration...

This is why my current girl crushes are:

Lena Friggin Fujii, c'mon, even though I sometimes question if the oven is on, she always seems to surprise me, and her vintage french gal look is always love! But I would like to see less of her underwear

Kana Oya, I want this girl to be my BFF, I love brown gals (by brown I mean half brazilian or half black japanese models) They inspire me to be gal too! She is so cute, and I love her more street appeal than the club gal look she used to have...

Ikumi, I wish she had a blog(or one that was updated past 2006), she is just, soooo cooool! I love her hipster look! She is soo cute, i always look forward to new issues of MORE for her and kana.

Kiko, at first she seemed a little fanservicey in some old issues of Vivi, nowadays she seems to have come into her own, I love her in the cher lookbook as well as her awesome videoagraphy!!

Some Honorable mentions would be:

Christina: does anyone know her blog? She totally looks latina, i mean her name is christina! She looks like my girl from up the street, but she's adorable!

Gulico: Her punky appeal reminds me of a young Anna-T, and who doesn't love a girl with FRECKLES!

Jun Hasegawa: I like her then I dont then I do then I do, I feel like my relationship with her is like the same of those with Kumicky, you love her and then sometimes she just annoys you, then you look again and you're like "i can't hate yooooooou!"

Maria: I just like that we have the same nose..haha!!

Plus I feel like I can't defend my sexuality more by having at least one male crush:

Tadanobu Asano....I likes my mens dirty looking, he kinda looks like he could be Panda's cousin, he is half native american and dave is mexican so I can see the traits. He also looks like a Japanese Joseph Gordon Levitt! DO YOU SEE IT!?
