So Last weekend, was a crazy weekend for most I’m sure. Between BBQs and family dues I’m sure most of us were up to our eyeballs in things to do and people to see.

Saturday: Panda’s familia had a fiesta, an overdue graduation party and town hall fireworks..etc
Sunday: Tailgate thrown by the community church, family, fireworks, soccer, BBQ, line dancing..lols
Monday: Sibling run to Mistuwa.

Between running here and there I did not get much pics, but I was able to try some new coordinates. As like everyone else, I am smitten by the mode look! I snagged this dynamite shoulder shirt from Urban Outfitters, and the shorts are my fave BCBG (that are sadly now 4 sizes TOO BIG, can you get shorts tailored????) These shoes are okay IMO, I feel like my new ones will really take this look over the edge.

Doesn’t it look like I’m wearing falsies!! I’m just wearing lash blast fusion, which I love more than any other mascara I have tried. Panda actually bought it for me, which I left in his car along with my cell phone, he brought it back to me on Monday and drew me this little love note.,,which i'll scan and show you later..

Monday: as stated before I made my way to Mistuwa, I picked up JILLE and MORE, and more had this awesome Gelato Pique eco bag that Is finally MY SIZE it fits 2 magazines, one graphic novel, my make, DS, camera, and water bottle, NO JOKE. And its ADORABLE...It also came with shampoo which I’ll just take with me on the plane…(pics soon)

Makey Makey, this is towards the end of the day so, not much, and my hair is complete frizz, guh humid Chicago DX.

Luckily; on Thursday I was able to snag some organic tinted moisterizure + SPF (along with some vegan meals- yumyum) at the Health Food store. It’s fairly reasonably price (about $10) No added extras and fragrance free. Buildable too! My skin loves it and I don’t feel like my face is melting off (HA) I’m sure it will be perfecto for MEXICO..which is in..16 DAYS!! (thank God, mee needs una vacation!) Especially now, i found out yesterday that *I GOT MY APARTMENT* It's in perfect and vintage-y...i prefer classic architecture than an efficient new box..:/

I'll give some info on it without spilling all the beans (i dun wan no stalkin..:'(..heh)

It's a few blocks from the lakefront :D
It has a walk in closet, which is like the size of a small bedroom
It was built in like the 1920s so it has some cool wooden floors and decor...
I gots a balcony XD
Its in walking distance from some of the best shopping in Chicago, and comic book stores (lols)
...and let me clarify i don't mean like "old navy"...I mean like free people store, sweet vintage shops, an indie movie theatre (YES!), Barneys co-op :D

But my lease starts Aug 6 and I get back Aug 3rd...thats cutting it close DX sooo...expect me packing for a good while ;_;...when I'm all done and set up I promise to do a video tour! This is my "first place" so I am very excited, I always dreamed of being all sex in the city with my own place (less sex more city), no crazy roommates (just maybe some crazy neighbors, heard the building is full of actors and up and coming film students) and I'm free from campus housing since this year I'll be a "super senior" and I could not stand to live with another 18 year old...

Anyway, it's time to start my weekend!

Today, was a good day...I mean it...it was!

This rarely happens, that I look back and say "today was good" for absolutely nothing CRAZY SPECTACULAR-YA-KNOW-LIKE-WIN-A-YEAR-TRIP-TO-JAPAN good...I do have good days, don't get me wrong, but today just seemed kinda groovy..heh

For starters I had to go to the hospital with my mom, she needed to get some things examined "upstairs", I was really worried and thought she might have breast cancer, it's really been kinda bumming me out these past days, not such much bum but stress....but turns out, ITS JUST NOTHING! We were so happy, she had to have sugery anyway, and it took like 10mins and was no intrusive...

so since we were in the city, we decided to do a bit of shopping! I didn't buy much but I did try laura mecier's tinted moisturizer, (thanks to shompnchomp) I LOVE THE COVERAGE, but it so $$, even the clinique I have isn't over 15, the most I've spent is on pure minerals which was almost 30...but $44? I denno, do I love it that much???? I've been wearing it all day to see if I get a breakout, it does really brighten my skin though! which I loooove! I might just have to sacrifice my comic book money on this, I'm all about nice foundation, I could care less about brand eye shadows since I barely wear it, but foundation is wear it starts, and I'm getting rather tired of my revlon crap that fades after 2hrs...I bought it cuz it was on sale, and FOR ONCE it matched my skin tone, other than this, I usually buy organic make up..but we will see...I think I'll try Tarte next, then allow time to tell...

I also was able to try Japan home grown "beard papa" while in the mall..but I'll do more of an extensive review on that later...

on another happy note, they finally allowed wii to be connected to netflix-SCORE!!

I miss him already

The later half of this week was a little wilder than expected...lemme give you just a short iternary..


Wednesday Night: I got into a battle of wits with my roommate, she was upset that I did not want to go to her 21st bday party. I understood it was a great milestone. But it was from 9-1am on Thursday. And I have a job and have to work!!!And I said I didn't want to risk getting sick or have a seziure from the stress and lack of sleep (i have heart problems it causes seizures.) She didnt care about my responsibilities nor my health issue nor that I wanted to be out alone, because I would leave early (obviously) and not want some drunk guy to take me home, risking my safety--no thanks...

Thursday: I had a seziure and the ambulance had to come to my job. Ironic huh. I'm okay though don't worry. It's the first seizure since July, so I say thats pretty good. I almost made it a whole year with no problems. I guess blogging has help relieve stress :D

Thursday night: I met with my dad for dinner. I haven't seen my dad in two years, we decided to try our relationship again. It was really nice...I wasn't blaming him for leaving and he wasnt calling me a brat...we just talked all night, I realize that despite all the hurt, I still love him a lot...

Friday; Panda came over!!! panda came over!! I missed him so much!!! My roomie is gone btw, she went to Nawlins' for her bday and I have the whole apartment to myself. So panda and I decided to make a weekend of it! :D

We went to go see the movie after.life, we both like christina ricci because she looks like an anime character, and she's just adorable. But the movie was...lacking...But we saw it for free soooo :P...I also made him dinner heehee!!!

Saturday: Panda visited again :D and we went to this "kawaii shop" they just opened a few blocks from my house! I'd say its like a donki or daiso, its cheap and have everything you need. Plus tons of rilakkumma stuff! No magazines though, but it does prevent the need to go to Mistuwa so often, its so far away, this place is in the city!!! :D

I always wanted bento supplies, but its expensive online after shipping costs. Now i finally have a starter kit. i really want to start making bentos since I have classes all day and no time for lunch. This is perfect. Plus a rila notebook and a panda bath friend!!! (well its actually a dish sponge, but i'm gunna use it as my bath friend XD)


We went to Itto sushi, a Japanese restaurant that has been in chicago for over 24 years! It was popin! The food was great. Panda got smoked salmon sashimi and I got beef udon! We both ended it with green tea and strawberry mochi Yum yum! No pics sorry, I was so hungry I forgot!!!

But Panda did take this awesome pic of me! I like his photography, even though Im not wild about my pose, its still a nice pic and snap of what I wore.



anyway, i think I might go get some fresh air to get my mind off of Panda...I miss him already :/

Mashed Potatoe

I really need to get going to bed especially since I'll need to get up at 6, but I wanted to do a quick bloggie! ( feel like I always say that!! XD)

Anyways, i'm really glad you all enjoyed my meme, it appears that as days go by I keep getting into gal!! It just can't be helped, it so cute, maybe I did not like it before because I was overweight, and when you don't feel good on the outside it reflects on how you dress. i became so t-shirt and jeansy in college after being so fashionable in jr and sr yr of high school. i'm not saying that looks matter or if you do feel overweight to not dress fashionably, i just think its a personal thing. But now I feel much better--- I gained 30lbs through college after being rather small! I'm losing so much weight and getting a healthier BMI, I was at 26.2 which is considered overweight, but now I'm at 23.9 which is healthy!!! My goal is 20.8! so wish my continual luck, I'm almost sure I'll get there by Panda's Bday (june!) My eating habits are great, its just the lack of exercise because I'm just so busy! But you have to find ways like walking or biking to class! (which I do) and just say NO to elevators!! lol

but I digress....

this saturday my mommy and me spent the whole day together since i'm going back to my apartment tomorrow morning. We did a lot of errands for her business, but we obviously found time to shop.

I only bought 2 shirts and A LOT OF UNDIES, cuz I needed to retire so items...heh heh (tmi?) I don't have any pics but there's this outfit snap...

I got that plaid shirt this weekend, because again i needed to retire some old plaid and lots of my clothes no longer fit! I'm waiting to buy when I get to my goal but I hate looking sloppy. I decided to buy things a little snug too because in a few weeks it should fit perfectly. :D I love it, it's so western gal meets free people!

best weekend ever...

It truly truly was!

I must say, its been a while since a had a GREAT weekend, and I have to admit this one was the best. I think the best part about it was, nothing was preplanned, really...

some of the worst weekends I have are when I went through weeks of pre-planning and then it doesn't turn out the way I had hoped. This weekend was..PERFECTION to the tee!

So where do I begin, let's start with friday....

FRIDAY:
I had to work in the GD lab, of course, but afterwards I was whisked away to kamehachi sushi bar. It's supposed to be one of the best and Chicago's first sushi resturant. Panda and I went as a double with one of our good friends and his lady friends ('who was not his date' heh) That resturant it UBER expensive, but the lady friend had a coupon for $50 dollars off! And trust me when I say we went waaaaaaaaaaay over that, hahah!

It was so delicious! It melted in your mouth, and DID NOT taste like the bottom of the sea. I MUST GO THERE AGAIN! I'm sure if me and Panda go it wont be as bad price wise, but who knows everything tastes so good!

Afterwards, we had our monthly game night, which was very fun! I had a good time catching up with old pals, especially since for once, Panda and I were early and able to talk with people versus getting there late and there's like 30 ppl crammed into one apartment....

SATURDAY:
I had to get up at the butt crack of dawn for work, but it was fun and thats when i wrote my last post because my boss had nothing for me to do and TOLD me to go piss off time online..hah!

Afterwards, I me and panda took a BIG OLE NAP because we were soooo tired! Instead of going out for breakfast. When 4 o'clock rolled around we finally got up to go get some bread and mexican hot chocolate!

It was so good! ( My apartment is right next to a primarily latino neighborhood, its super cool though)

That night, Panda and I geared up to go to chicago comics for a book signing! Artist Becky Clooan and Jeffery Brown were some of the artist there.

We totally geeked out and got them to sign our books, tee hee! Plus, I got Mr. Brown to read one of my comics and he loved it! I was so very pleased!

For dinner we went to our favorite cafe, earwax of course, I got a pulled pork and he got a bison burger. It was so good! Plus we had to stop at reckless records for a bit of photoboothing!

SUNDAY:

Sunday started off as a good day, I had intended on coming home to my mom's house for our annual oscar party. turned out she was really sick and had to cancel. I was so disappointed because I had planed to do this for a while. Luckily, Panda came by and whisked me away to the Japanese market place to cheer me up! Is he not the sweetest???

(Plus, I'm glad to get all those other little cases for my electronics and such, especially since I keep spilling things in my purse. i just spilled chocolate mousse in my bag two weeks ago and everything was RUINED, luckily Panda and Mommy came to the rescue!)

Finally, that nite Panda and I of course watched the oscars, had joy yees (beef cubes in a tomatoes sauce yum yum!) and snuggled until he went home. Plus in the morning my roomate (who works at the gene siskel film center) brought me home THIS from the chicago oscar party!!

Eli's cheese cake! A goodybag filled with free services at elite chicago boutiques and salons, and AN OFFICIAL OSCARS PROGRAMME THEY RECIEVE AT THE ACTUAL ACADEMY AWARDS!

IT WAS SO STELLAR! I'm still geeking out! Thank you!

so that was my weekend! pretty nifty eh? I gotta say I'm truly blessed with such great family and friends. I'm glad my roomy and I are friends again and that my relationship with panda is fantastic. this was truly my best weekend of 2010, I wonder how were going to beat this now..haha!
